Enroll your new dependent in benefits within 30 days
Log in to nestle.ehr.com or call the Nestlé Benefits Service Center at 1-877-637-2255, option #2. Adding a child to Nestlé health care benefits is a qualified family status change.
An employee’s first newborn child is automatically covered for $5,000 child life for 31 days from the child’s live birth. To continue coverage on the first child, the employee must elect child coverage within those 31 days; otherwise the coverage shall terminate at the end of the 31-day period.
If you are enrolled in child life, remember to add your new child for coverage within 31 days.
If you are not enrolled in child life, consider this important coverage and enroll within in 30 days.
BE AWARE: You will have a gap in coverage if you enroll your child after 30 days but within 60 days if you don’t currently cover other dependent children on your benefits.
REMEMBER: In addition to health care benefits, consider increasing your contribution to your Health Savings Account (HSA), if you’re enrolled in the SureSAVER or HealthSAVER plan. Also, review your life insurance needs and update your beneficiaries. You may also want to update your tax withholding.
If you’re having a baby and would like to enroll in the Dependent Care FSA, the election must be made during your initial or annual enrollment window prior to arrival. You will not have a mid-year opportunity to add this benefit when the baby is born.
